The Centre County Democratic Committee (CCDC) is looking for an Executive Director. The successful candidate will assist the CCDC in achieving strategic election goals and report to the Human Resources Committee and a designee of the HR Committee.
Key Responsibilities Petitions/Elections
Coordinate with Area Chairs, Penn State College Dems, and Volunteers to circulate petitions prior to the Primary Election to place Democrats on the ballot.
Work with and maintain positive relationships with all Democratic campaigns, especially in contested Primary races.
Collect and check petitions for accuracy prior to distribution to candidates.
Ensure completed petitions are distributed to candidates for filing.
Coordinate and communicate with Area Chairs/Precinct People leading up to and on Election Day in reporting and collecting data on polling location turnout, signage, volunteer coverage, etc.
Voter Registration/Mail-in Ballots
Coordinate with Area Chairs, Penn State College Dems, and Volunteers to plan and hold voter registration drives, including in rural areas of the County.
Ensure collected voter registration forms are returned to the County elections office following proper registration procedures and protocols.
Develop and promote mail-in voting information drives and trainings (as needed) to educate voters on the mail-in voting process.
Internship Program
Recruit, interview, and onboard interns with input from the HR Committee Chair.
Train interns, assign tasks, and monitor progress and development.
Report internship progress to HR Committee Chair.
Area Development
Actively work with Area Chairs to recruit and develop new precinct people and area volunteers.
Develop Rural Outreach programs with Area Chairs in those areas with particular emphasis on voter registration, mail-in ballot, and candidate information and recruitment initiatives.
Plan and coordinate Precinct People/Volunteer training sessions.
Develop an annual plan of priorities and objectives for the next election cycle in consultation with HR Committee and Chair/Vice-Chair of Executive Committee.
Office Administration
Retrieve CCDC Phone Messages and delegate to proper CCDC Executive Committee Member to return (i.e., Chair, Vice-Chair, Communications Director, or Area Chair/Vice-Chair, etc.).
Communicate with Treasurer monthly for data/financial reports.
Coordinate with Chair and Communications Director on posting events to social media and the website.
Maintain office hours in coordination with the Chair of the CCDC and HR Committee Chair.
Report any issues to the HR Committee Chair and/or the Chair of the CCDC.
Report regular status/project updates to the HR Committee Chair.
Maintain office cleanliness and accessibility coordinating with volunteers/interns after functions.
Skills
Experience with database building and maintenance.
Experience managing fundraising drives and maintaining donor database.
Knowledge of PA Elections, including process, procedures, and deadlines.
Experience coordinating and scheduling volunteers to perform a variety of activities.
